Green Visarjan

From Claude Impact Lab, Bhopal, 11 October 2026.

Turns 1,524 ghat readings into two priority lists, one for recorded pollution and one for missing evidence that needs fresh testing, each with its reading.

The problem

Bhopal municipal officers have years of water-quality reports, but need a clear, evidence-backed way to decide which immersion ghats need attention and where fresh testing is required.

How it works

Visarjan Ghat Watch turns 1,524 water-quality readings from seven Bhopal immersion ghats (2023–2025) into clear priorities for municipal officers. It checks pH, dissolved oxygen and BOD against CPCB Class B limits and gives two priority lists: one for recorded pollution and one for missing evidence that needs fresh testing. Each rank comes with the deciding reading, year and report page, plus a map, before/during/after comparisons, Hindi and English briefs, and an option to upload new lab data. It uses transparent rules, not AI predictions, and keeps missing data and uncertainty visible. It supports decisions about testing and review, but it cannot certify current water safety or guarantee an intervention will work.

How Claude was used

We used Claude Code to create complete frontend, and for data analysis after verifying a few things.
