Turns three years of MPPCB water tests into a ranked action plan for Bhopal’s seven ghats, with field sheets and a brief in Hindi and English.
The problem
Pran-Vayu: Bhopal visarjan ghat risk and action planner
Every Ganesh and Durga festival, the MP Pollution Control Board tests the water at Bhopal's immersion ghats before, during and after immersion. The results sit in 90 to 120 page PDF reports that nobody compares with legal limits, so the municipal officer planning Durga visarjan decides from memory. Those reports show that oxygen at Bairagarh kund fell to zero four times, that 42 of 116 oxygen readings were below the bathing standard, and that some ghats were never tested at the latest Durga visarjan.
Pran-Vayu turns 1,524 of these readings into one clear plan for 20 October:
It ranks all 7 ghats against the CPCB bathing limits, with a plain action and reason for each. It assigns the officer's available aerators and sampling teams to the ghats that need them most. It treats missing tests as a reason to go and test, never as clean, and prints field sampling sheets for those ghats. It updates the ranking live with readings taken on visarjan day.
How it works
Pran-Vayu is a website that turns three years of MPPCB visarjan water tests into a ranked action plan for Bhopal's 7 ghats. It tells the municipal officer which ghats need aerators and testing before Durga visarjan on 20 October, assigns their available teams, prints field sheets, updates live with readings taken on the day, and produces a brief in Hindi and English.
What makes it stand out:
- Missing data becomes a testing plan. Untested ghats are never shown as clean; a sampling team is sent there instead.
- Decisions, not just charts. It assigns the officer's actual aerators and teams, with a reason for each.
- Every number is verifiable. Each one links to its page in the government report, and all 1,467 values were checked automatically.
- A ranking you can trust. It was recomputed 24 ways, and the top ghat stays first every time.
Bilingual and honest. It works in Hindi and English, with no health claims.
- AI assistant that answers from the checked data and can act for the officer.
How Claude was used
Claude Code was my teammate for the whole day. I worked solo, so we planned the build together in phases, and it wrote most of the code while I made the decisions on design, scope and priorities. Accuracy mattered to me most. Claude Code checked every one of the 1,467 numbers against the original government PDFs, tested the screens in a real browser, and caught bugs I would have missed. It also helped me write the Hindi text, the PDF briefs and the README.
