Ration Setu

A digital queue and token system for Fair Price Shops, so ration beneficiaries can see their place in line and estimated wait instead of queueing for hours.

The problem

Ration Setu addresses the long waiting time, overcrowding, lack of queue transparency, and difficulty in tracking ration distribution at Fair Price Shops (FPS). Beneficiaries, especially elderly people, daily-wage workers, and people from remote areas, may spend several hours waiting for their ration, resulting in time and wage loss. Dealers and administrators also face difficulties in managing queues, tokens, stock visibility, and transaction records.

How it works

Ration Setu is a digital ration queue and token management platform that makes PDS/FPS visits more organized and transparent. Beneficiaries can register using OTP, view their ration entitlement and nearby FPS, select a shop, and receive a digital token or QR-based token. The system provides token position, estimated waiting time, and notifications before the user's turn. Dealers can verify beneficiaries, manage the queue, record distribution, and monitor stock, while administrators can monitor transactions and discrepancies. This reduces physical waiting and overcrowding while improving transparency in ration distribution.
